Slate Roof Installation

At KJC Roofing, we recently completed a comprehensive slate tile roof repair and maintenance project on a beautiful home in Newport Beach, CA. This project involved a full facet repair, covering the entire section of the roof from top to bottom and edge to edge, using high-quality and durable slate tiles.

The process began with the careful removal of the existing slate tiles, which were inspected for damage, as slate is a premium material that can be fragile and prone to breakage over time. After removing the tiles, we took out the old underlayment, exposing the wooden sheathing beneath. We meticulously inspected the wood to uncover any hidden damage caused by water leaks, ensuring that the roof would be structurally sound for years to come.

Once the inspection was complete, we installed a new synthetic Titanium PSU 30 underlayment, designed for durability and weather resistance, with a 30-year warranty to give our client peace of mind. Following this, we reinstalled metal flashings and carefully placed new slate tiles to replace any that were broken, maintaining the natural beauty and sophisticated look of the original roof.

This project required attention to detail due to the complexity of the slate tile material and the architectural elements of the roof. Our team worked diligently to ensure each tile was set precisely, with flashings fitted seamlessly to prevent future leaks.
