KJC Roofing recently completed a detailed 2-piece clay tile relay project on a beautiful property in Anaheim Hills, CA. A tile relay involves carefully removing the existing tiles, stacking them aside for reinstallation, and replacing the underlayment and flashings to extend the roof’s longevity.
Our process began with removing the original 2-piece clay tiles, which were set aside for reuse to maintain the roof’s character. We then stripped away the expired underlayment, along with the existing metal flashings and roof vents. For this project, we upgraded the underlayment to Titanium PSU 30, a premium synthetic material with a 30-year warranty, ensuring robust weather protection and durability.
With the foundation of the roof now reinforced, we installed new metal flashings and roof vents to prevent leaks and enhance airflow. Finally, we carefully reinstalled the clay tiles, replacing any broken pieces, and secured each tile with mortar to withstand the elements and retain the roof’s classic aesthetic.
This labor-intensive project required precision and craftsmanship, as we took great care to restore the natural beauty of the clay tile roof while securing it for decades to come. The result is a stunning, durable roof that enhances the charm of this Anaheim Hills home and stands as a testament to KJC Roofing’s commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
